Tara Air passenger plane went missing during a domestic flight over the Himalaya Mountains in Nepal with 21 people on board, the country’s officials have said.

At least two foreign nationals were on the plane – one Chinese and one Kuwaiti, the chief of Mustang district’s police Office, Harihar Nath Yogi, said. The plane departed from Nepal’s second-largest city of Pokhara on Wednesday morning and was scheduled land in Jomsom Airport in the mountainous Mustang District. A search and rescue operation is underway.
